Export of tobacco and tobacco products: F. No. 479/22/89-Cus. VII, dated 20-9-1989. Government of India, Ministry of Finance, (Department of Revenue), New Delhi. Subject: Export of tobacco and tobacco products - Instructions regarding: I am directed to say that as per Section 12 of the Tobacco Board Act, 1975, no person shall export tobacco or any tobacco products unless he registers himself with the Tobacco Board. It has been brought to notice that exports of tobacco and tobacco products were being allowed in cases where exporters were not registered with the Tobacco Board. Attention is invited to Chief Controller of Imports & Export's Public Notice No. 2ETC (PN)/89, dated 17-1-1989 under the Export Policy 1988-91 (OGL-3, S. No. 9) in terms of which exports of un-manufactured tobacco is subject to minimum export price criterion and its export is allowed only on production of price certificate or no objection certificate from Tobacco Board. These stipulations of Import-Export Policy may again be brought to the notice of all concerned for strict compliance.
