It has been brought to the notice of the Board that presently the containers which are subjected to Green Channel facility are also moved to the Customs area from Ports for the purpose of examination. It has been suggested that importers should be allowed to clear the Green Channel containers directly from the ports without transhipping the same to the Customs area. It was noted that such facility is already operational at some of the ports. This procedure would also reduce the dwell time considerably for such cargo resulting in efficient functioning. 2. It has been decided by the Board that such importers would be allowed to clear the Green Channel containers directly from the ports without transshipping the same to the Customs area for examination. The above instructions may be brought to the notice of the Trade 3. immediately through appropriate Public Notice. 4. Receipt of this Circular may kindly be acknowledged. 5.
