Appointment of Commissioners/Deputy/Assistant Commissioners of Customs for the areas — Supersession of Notification No. 250/83- Cus. and No. 251/83-Cus. Notification No. 27/97-Cus. (N.T.), dated 7-7-1997 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) and in supersession of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 250/83-Customs, dated 27th August, 1983 and No. 251/83- Customs, dated 27th August, 1983 the Central Government hereby appoints the officers mentioned in column (3) of the Table below to be the Commissioners of Customs, the officers mentioned in column (4) thereof to be the Deputy Commissioners of Customs, and the officers mentioned in the column (5) thereof to be the Assistant Commissioners of Customs, for the areas mentioned in the corresponding entry in column (2) of the said Table with effect from the date to be notified by the Central Government in the Official Gazette.
