M/s Centre for Good Governance, Hyderabad has been appointed as the Consultant for work on the said report. An online Census Survey of ten Group 'A' Services is to be conducted by them through circulation of online questionnaire. Directorate General of Systems and Data Management has generated official email ids for all the IRS(C&CE) officers. These email ids are to be used by the officers for all official communication. It has been decided that the above referred online survey will also be conducted through official email ids provided by DG Systems. This Directorate in the process of dispatching the generated log in and password of these officers individually and expect to complete the exercise by 30th of October, 2009. Individual letters to all the IRS(C&CE) officers would hopefully reach them by the first week of November, 2009. While using the email, instructions regarding E-mail Security issued by Directorate of Systems vide Security Guidelines No.1 dated May 25, 2009 may be kept in mind. The relevant paragraph is reproduced below. DO: 1. The official mail account should be used for official purposes only. All mails would be archived in CBEC’s data centre and mails entering and leaving CBEC’s network would be subjected to scans. 2. Open mails from known senders only. 3. Ensure that the attachments are scanned before opening. DONTS 1. Don’t open mails from unknown persons, especially those carry attachments that you were not expecting. 2. It is reiterated that you must not open attachments with a suspicious file extension (*.exe, *.vbs, *.bin, *.com or *.pif). 3. Don’t open a message that directs you to click on a web link. 4. Don’t open Email with unusual topic lines: “Your car? Oh! Nice Pic! Family Update! Very Funny!” Please find the enclosed list of officers with whom the Director General of Systems and Data Management has already shared the email ids and password. It is informed that the above mentioned officers will not the said individual letters. In case, any officer has not received the email id and password generated by DG (Systems) by the 6th of November, 2009, a communication may kindly be sent to Shri.
