Appointment of Customs Officers Notification No. 28/88-Cus. (N.T.), dated 12-5-1988 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government hereby appoints, - (a) officers posted as Assistant Collector for the purposes of customs, in the Santa Cruz Electronics Export Processing Zone, the FALTA Export Processing Zone, the Madras Export Processing Zone, the NOIDA Export Processing Zone and the Cochin Export Processing Zone, to be the Assistant Collector of Customs; (b) officers posted as Appraiser, Superintendent (Preventive), Examiner and Preventive Officer for the purposes of customs, in the Santa Cruz Electronics Export Processing Zone, the FALTA Export Processing Zone, the Madras Export Processing Zone, the NOIDA Export Processing Zone and the Cochin Export Processing Zone, to be the officers of customs; (c) officers posted as Security Officers, Assistant Security Officer, Head Security Guard, Security Guard in the Santa Cruz Electronics Export Processing Zone, the FALTA Export Processing Zone, the Madras Export Processing Zone, the NOIDA Export Processing Zone and the Cochin Export Processing Zone, to be the officers of customs within the respective jurisdiction of the Assistant Collector of Customs concerned. Explanation:- For the purposes of this notifications, (i) the Santa Cruz Electronics Export Processing Zone shall comprise of the places enclosed by the boundaries as are specified in paragraph 2 of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 227-Cus./779, dated the 30th November, 1979, issued under sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962); (ii) the FALTA Export Processing Zone shall comprise of the places bearing the survey numbers and enclosed by the boundaries as are specified in paragraph 4 of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 262- Cus./85, dated the 16th August, 1985, issued under sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962); (iii) the Madras Export Processing Zone shall comprise of the places bearing the survey numbers and enclosed by the boundaries as are specified in paragraph 4 of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 263- Cus./85, dated the 16th August, 1985, issued under subsection (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962); (iv) the NOIDA Export Processing Zone, shall comprise of the places bearing the survey numbers and enclosed by the boundaries as are specified in paragraph 4 of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 339- Cus./85, dated the 21st November, 1985, issued under sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962); (v) the Cochin Export Processing Zone shall comprise of the places bearing the survey numbers, location, area and enclosed by the boundaries as are specified in paragraph 5 of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 340-Cus./86, dated the 13th June, 1986, issued under sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962).
